Born and raised in Athens , GA , Desiree is an accomplished jazz, ballet and theatre performer and also skilled in voice and tap. At age ten, Desiree auditioned for “The Nutcracker” and won the leading role as Mary with the Atlanta Ballet. Meet Nextfit Trainer Debbee Sharpe
Debbee is the owner of The Pilates Body Loft. She has been a fitness trainer and instructor for 30 years teaching classes, training clients and other instructors. She started and owned the first aerobic studio in Durham , North Carolina from 1980 to 1991. She was on the PE staff at Duke University and taught aerobic fitness. Debbee was one of the featured instructors on Crunch Fitness aired on ESPN2. She was also one of the Fit Team for Jenny Craig's 'Fit in 15' on the Health Channel. Her videos include Crunch Fitness Turbo Sculpt; Harper's Bazaar Greenhouse Spa; and Jenny Craig's Tube and Tone Workout. Debb continues to be involved in video, training talent to be ready for camera and techs for the shoot. She has also designed workout programs for several featured articles in Shape Magazine. Sharpe's Workout was a continuing education provider for ACE, and Ms. Sharpe taught instructor workshops and lectured throughout the United States . Debbee has presented at international conventions. She chaired the first Workout for Hope in North Carolina and was a guest presenter for the event in California and North Carolina . She was a civilian fitness provider for the US Military during the Gulf War and spent two months in Bahrain , Saudi Arabia . Ms. Sharpe has many general and specific fitness certifications.

Do you remember back in 2005 when Heidi Klum shocked the workout and fashion world by rocking the Victoria ’s Secret runway just two months after giving birth? Well, one person (besides Ms. Klum herself, obviously) is credited with her ability to bounce back so quickly. And that person is David Kirsch.
Kirsch has his own personal training facility in NYC, worked on ABC’s “Extreme Makeover,” has written various books (one of which we’re giving away below—whee!) and starred in numerous workout DVDs. Plus, he has more than just Heidi on his client list. He’s also helped Faith Hill, Ellen Barkin, Liv Tyler, Kerry Washington, Anne Hathaway and Linda Evangelista get red-carpet ready. His workouts are tough and his diets are strict, but his results certainly speak for themselves.
We were lucky enough to get David to do a quick Q&A with us recently about his fitness philosophy, latest book, DVD and the inside scoop on some of the A-list celebs he trains with. (We couldn’t resist asking if Heidi is really as sweet as she seems on TV!) Be sure to read through all of the answers, as he also makes quite the FBG joke.

5 Easy Things You Can Do to Reach Your Goals
Hi I’m Dori Madsen. I’m a NextFit trainer and I wanted to share 5 tips that help my clients reach their weight loss goals. I am asked day in and day out what’s the best way to keep the weight off. I always tell people it’s not as complicated as you might think. Here are my 5 easy-to-do tips.
1) Don’t feel bad about throwing away food you don’t need to eat.
If you have already purchased the food it doesn’t make a difference if you put it in your mouth or in the trash! The best thing would be to not purchase things you do not need in the first place. But in the case of cleaning out your cupboards and fridge to get rid of things you do not need just relish in the fact that you will no longer be tempted by these things and you will be making room for all of the wonderful foods you will be eating instead.
2) Cardio 1st thing in the morning helps with motivation.
Actually, any type of exercise in the morning can help to motivate you to make better choices during the day because you start your day empowered and feeling good about what you have already accomplished…which is taking care of yourself and giving your body the exercise it needs to stay strong and healthy. Cardiovascular training gets your heart rate up and raises your core temperature signaling your brain to release those feel good chemicals serotonin and dopamine. It has been scientifically proven that exercise works just as well as anti depression medicine by releasing those feel good chemicals but without the negative side effects.
3) Eliminate regular soda. It is the worst thing you can put into your body.
